My crazy X really does not define my future! This crazy dude use to abuse me mentally and physically hell he couldn’t even hold down a job. There was one time he beat me so bad he almost killed me.He has a long history of drugs and violence. Of course guys like this are never like the description above when you meet them.
But I’m past all that now, I found the strength to leave and I’m so much better now. However what do you do when there are kids involved ? Now this crazy X did a huge number on me but what do you do when you just want to protect your kids from he/she? To me he’s my crazy X but to my kids that’s their father.
Here is my advice to all the sistas who know just where I’m coming from. One create boundaries, two make sure family and friends are well aware of your situation create safety plans with them. Four be as truthful and as honest with your kids as you can. Number ones my favorite! Now this is only if there are children involved, if there are no kids involved reframe from the toxic situation and seek counseling from the trauma you have endured.
I’m touching on this subject lightly because sometimes ‘DV Victims ‘get classified as as just that -VICTIMS! I hate that! But honey you can bounce back-ok!!
Look I could write a whole book on this thing, my whole point is to let you know your a survivor, your victoriois, You are a conqueror. No one is define by they’re past and if God is for you -Who can be against you?! No one baby!!
Oh and try not to end with that same type of dude ....get yourself counciling and always look for warning signs. Ok love yall gots ta go!!!
[@mschristinahinojosa] and not all of them live to tell what happened.
